My favorite website is Gardenweb. I have been a member there for several years. I am a plant fiend and this website fills all of my addictions. There are so many forums for different kinds of plants and other topics. I have found plenty of good advice and information there. Gardenweb has a forum for just about any kind of plant people in the United States would grow. There are also regional forums so a person can read posts from others living in their area. Plus, there are forums that focus on the reasons we garden, such as the fragrant forum and the butterfly forum. I started out reading and posting mainly on the plumeria forum since I have been growing plumerias for ten years, and was truly addicted for the first few years. Then, I started reading other forums such as the Southern forum. When I moved, my forum choices changed a bit. Now, I’ll read occasionally on many forums, but not spend too much time on any one. My favorite forum is the plant exchange. I have traded many plants over the past couple of years, sending extras of my own, and acquiring unusual plants that I just can’t get anywhere else. It is always so much fun to receive a box from a plant exchange. And, now, I get to walk around my yard and see the interesting and unusual plants growing. The posts people write are valuable for learning how to grow certain plants and how to solve problems. The forums are a place where we all teach one another from our experiences. We post questions and advice for others. People share beautiful pictures. Pictures of unknown plants are posted, and anyone who knows what the plant is responds, telling us all the identity. We also learn what plant stores and sellers are good and not so good. All in all, Gardenweb is fun, interesting and very informative.
