Last movie i saw was “Stranger Than Fiction.” I rather liked it. It could easily have turned into a bit of a slush-fest, but they managed to keep it quirky enough to make it uplifting without being cheesy. Maggie Gyllenhall, as ever, is excellent in it as are the other actors, the script is well done with some brilliant jokes (Dustin Hoffman get the best lines) and just the right amount of light satire. Its not as original as some people have claimed (borrows quite heavily from “Adaptation”) but its definetly a bit different from usual humdrum Hollywood babble. I asked Susan my girlfriend to marry me inside the theater and put the ring inside her popcorn and she loved it and said yes. Now we always remember that movie and have good laugh about the day we got married.
