My favorite music artist or band is Nirvana. I have loved Nirvana since the moment I first heard them at the age of 13. At that time in my life I truly related to how much pain was in Kurt Cobain’s voice. I was just entering my teenage years, and his lyrics were truly powerful far beyond anything I had ever heard. Those words are as powerful to me now as they were the first time I heard them. He sung of the injustices in the world, and how overlooked the kids of the time were. There never has been someone who touched so many kids’ lives like Kurt did. Not only did he let us know that we were not alone in the world, but he also made us feel like it was okay to be angry, and that we could let it out. In five short years it will be the 20th anniversary of his passing, and I can hardly believe that. It will always feel like yesterday to me. R.I.P. Always to Kurt Cobain- My life-long favorite artist.
